Work Campers deserve better than cookie-cutter tax advice.

Our Story

The Adventure Begins

Growing up in North Dakota, I learned early that adventure doesn't wait for perfect weather. Whether we were casting lines into pristine waters during endless summer evenings or drilling holes through frozen lakes for ice fishing in sub-zero temperatures, my family lived by one rule: there's always a reason to be outdoors.

When our first child turned one, we bought our first pop-up camper—a modest little trailer that would become our gateway to bigger dreams. Five years and two more kids later, we'd graduated to a much larger camper and were spending every summer exploring the hidden gems of North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota. Those years taught us that the best family memories aren't made in living rooms—they're made around campfires under star-filled skies.

When Dreams Meet Reality

In 2020, we planned our first major expedition, Yellowstone National Park. Like so many families, the pandemic derailed our plans, but it gave me something unexpected—time to dive deep into research about our national parks. What started as trip planning became an obsession. The more I learned about these incredible places, the more I realized I needed to see them all.

Our 2021 adventure to Yellowstone and Grand Teton was everything I'd imagined and more. Two years later, when we conquered all three Washington national parks in one epic trip, I knew there was no turning back. I had officially caught the "park bug," and it had me completely.

The Lightbulb Moment

In just three short years, our nest will be empty, and I'm already itching to hit the road full-time. After 21 years as a CPA and 11 years building and running my own firm, I'm ready for the next chapter: running my business remotely while exploring every single national park in our incredible country.

But as I started researching this dream—looking into remote work possibilities and work camping opportunities for my husband—I discovered something that stopped me in my tracks. 💡This stuff is incredibly complex!

Where Tax Nerd Meets Adventure Seeker

The tax implications of multi-state work, residency questions, housing allowances, and employment contracts created a puzzle that my CPA brain couldn't resist solving. I dove in headfirst, researching every angle, every deduction, every strategy to optimize our future work camping adventures.

And then it hit me like a lightning bolt: If this is overwhelming for someone who's been doing taxes professionally for over two decades, imagine how overwhelming it must be for everyone else.

Our "Why"

That's when I found my purpose. There was a massive gap between the complex tax realities work campers face and the cookie-cutter advice most accounting firms provide. I could bridge that gap by combining my professional expertise with authentic understanding of the work camping journey.

This isn't just another niche for me—it's a calling. This community deserves an advocate who gets excited about their adventures, not someone who sees them as complicated clients to avoid.

What Makes Us Different

We're not just your accountants—we're your future neighbors around the campfire!

When I review your employment contract, I'm not just looking for tax implications—I'm thinking about whether this opportunity aligns with your adventure goals. When I help you establish domicile in the right state, I'm not just saving you money—I'm protecting the financial foundation that makes your lifestyle possible.

Every piece of advice I give, every strategy I develop, every tax plan I create is informed by one simple truth: I genuinely understand why you chose this path, because I'm choosing it too.

Looking Forward

In three years, when our youngest heads off to college, you might see my husband and me pulling into a campground near you. We'll be the newbies asking a million questions about the most scenic hiking trails, the best fishing spot, and where to find the laundry facilities.

Until then, I'm honored to be your guide through the tax complexities that come with living your dreams. Because everyone deserves to focus on the adventure while knowing their financial foundation is rock-solid.
